Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova
 
 
Ramë Manaj was born on 24 July 1954 in Gllarevë village of Klina municipality
Since 10 January 2008 he has been on the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosova. In the third legislature he was elected member of the Assembly of Kosova. He is currently member of the Constitutional Commission of Kosova and member of the Commission for the Symbols of the Republic of Kosova.
In 1999 he started his political activities in the Democratic League of Kosova (LDK). Initially he was head of the party branch and member of the presidency of the party branch in Klina. Afterwards, he became member of the General Council, member of the Central Presidency and Permanent Secretary. Currently he is Permanent Secretary of the Democratic League of Kosova.
During the years 2006-2008 he was senior political and legal advisor to the President of the Kosova Assembly.
Head of the Klina Municipal Assembly during 2001-2006, and administration director in the Bauxite Company in Klina during 1982-1990.
Mr. Ramë Manaj also worked as a journalist during 1977-1979 in the only daily newspaper of the time “Rilindja”.    
Has completed the Law Faculty and the Bar Exam.
Can communicate in English (passive), French (basic) and Serbian (competent).
