The commitment of the EU towards the Republic of Kosovo was expressed concretely in the Donors’ Conference; when the EU and its members were the largest donors for Kosovo’s development. The EU has clearly defined a European future for the Western Balkans, including for the Republic of Kosovo, since the Thessaloniki Summit in 2003. The EU’s commitment to Kosovo was also clearly manifested by the decision of the EU to start a feasibility study next year which is expected to be completed by autumn of 2009. The EU Feasibility Study will open the path to the extremely important phase of signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement. The Government of the Republic of Kosovo remains determined to completing all of the membership criteria to join the EU – said Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi, in a Press Conference, after the 15th Meeting of the Tracking Mechanism of Stabilization and Association.

We are committed to embracing European values, to guaranteeing peace and security in the region, and to deepening cooperation with regional neighbors – emphasized the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi at the 15th Meeting of the Tracking Mechanism for Stabilization and Association. | | | More |
