Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi: Government has political will, legal infrastructure and will increase budget capacities, to continue fight against corruption

Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hajredin Kuçi, met today with the director of Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency, Mr. Hasan Preteni, and discussed with him the functioning and the working conditions of the agency. Following the meeting, Mr. Kuçi said that the Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency can count on the full support of the Government and that there is political will, a legal infrastructure in place, and also the budget capacities will grow, to fight on corruption.

“The Government of Kosovo has a strong will to fight corruption at every place and every corner it takes place, including at the Government of Kosovo,” said Deputy Prime Minister Kuçi, adding that he invited Mr. Preteni to hear from him about concrete information on concrete cases published in the report of the Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency. The cases raised are related to the work of the previous Government, said Deputy Prime Minister Kuçi, and added that this will not imply in any way that the Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency does not have the right to investigate into any case and any individual.
 
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hajredin Kuçi promised to support his request for increasing the salaries of the Agency officials who are carrying out a hazardous job and also to help improve their cooperation with the Department of Economic Crime and Fight Against Corruption in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
 
The Director of the Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency, Mr. Hasan Preteni thanked Mr. Kuçi for the support the Government has given to the Agency in fighting against corruption.
