As a continuation of the efforts to complete the national legislation of the Republic of Kosovo, a regular meeting of the Strategic Group for Transition was held today under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Hajredin Kuçi.
With participation from the Government of Kosovo, the International Civilian Office, the American Embassy, the opposition and international organisations in Kosovo, the Strategic Group for Transition
reviewed and aligned five important new bills, on general elections, local elections, the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, the Public Audit Office of the Republic of Kosovo and on Kosovo’s Railways.
The aligned bills will proceed for review and final approval in the Assembly of Kosovo in the coming days. In the meeting it was agreed that intensive work would continue for the preparation and approval of other bills necessary for the functioning of the state of Kosovo in all spheres of government before 15 June, the date when the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo comes into force.
