Kosova Table Tennis Federation will arrange for a team to participate in the Table Tennis World Championship in China and this is considered as the first participation of Kosovar sportspeople in an international competition following the declaration of independence represented by the new state symbols of the Republic of Kosova. This was announced during a meeting Prime Minister Thaçi had with a delegation from Kosova Table Tennis Federation.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova, Hashim Thaçi, emphasized in this meeting that from now on all the Kosova sportspeople will participate in all international competitions as citizens of the Republic of Kosova with their own state symbols. “I had the honor to wish a good trip and successes to the Kosova table tennis team in the Table Tennis World Championship. I have confidence that these sportspeople will bring medals to Kosova. On this occasion I had the honor and the pleasure to hand over to them the new state flag of Kosova, under the colors of which they will compete in this international competition,” said Prime Minister Thaçi stressing that from now on all the opportunities for Kosova sportspeople in international competitions have opened.
The head of the Kosova table tennis delegation said they are honored to waive on behalf of the Kosovar sportspeople the Kosova state flag and be part of the 150 world countries participating in the Table Tennis World Championship.
Kosovar table tennis players gave Mr. Thaçi a table tennis racket as a sign of respect and gratitude for the warm reception and for the support given to the Kosovar sports and to the Kosova Table Tennis Foundation.
