Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova, Hashim Thaçi, had a meeting today with the presidents of the municipal assemblies and asked them to speed up the preparations for the donors’ conference expected to take place at the end of May or beginning of June this year. Deputy Prime Minister Kuçi and ministers Shala and Ferati also participated in the meeting.
The Prime Minister told the heads of municipalities that this conference is of utmost importance for the economic development of Kosova and for alleviation of unemployment. “We are at the peak of work with the European Commission, US Government and other countries to hold the donors’ conference,” said the Prime Minister, adding that the Government has started the preparations, however, according to him, the municipal authorities are also to be involved in this process.
Mr. Thaçi further asked the municipal assembly chiefs to prepare highly professional projects, in order to be prepared Kosova wide, because, as he said, there is a good will to support Kosova. Therefore, we need to justify this through good governance, rule of law, transparent governance and promotion of interethnic tolerance.
The heads of municipalities promised to make all the necessary preparations and submit projects on time, and also close cooperation with the government in order to benefit from the donations that will contribute to the economic development in the municipalities.
