Prime Minister Thaçi returns from visit to US: Every citizen of Kosovo should take pride in excellent relations between Kosovo and US


The Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi returned today from the visit to the United States of America, which he assessed as historical as during the meetings the Delegation of Kosovo had with President Bush, Secretary of State Rice, Secretary of Defense, Gates and other senior United States of America officials they received unreserved support.

In an interview for the US television CNN shortly after the meeting with the US President, George W. Bush and upon hearing about the arrest of Bosnia Serb, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi said that this act is something very positive for Serbia, for the people of Serbia, and for the peace and stability in the region, and also for the investments of the US and the European Union in the region.

"I am against any division of Kosovo,” US President George W. Bush emphasized following a meeting with Prime Minister Thaçi and President Sejdiu at the White House. While, the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, said among other things: “Today’s meeting with President Bush is not only strengthening of relations between Kosovo and US, it is rather an eternal bond between the people of Kosovo and the people of America.”

This is the first visit in Washington by the leaders of the independent state of Kosovo.
