The Deputy Prime Minister, Hajredin Kuçi led an inter-ministerial meeting of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Ahmet Shala, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Lutfi Zharku, the Minister of Health, Alush Gashi, and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Zenun Pajaziti.
The meeting discussed the situation created as a result of the additional calls for improvement in the pay and position of at-risk social welfare categories and employees in the public sector in Kosovo. It was established at the meeting that the Government of Kosovo is committed in its work to secure well-being and security for all citizens of Kosovo. The government is working to find a solution and to integrate within its budget the many social welfare calls.
The Kosovan government will work on drafting a White Paper which will address and co-ordinate the policies of the Government of Kosovo to resolve social issues. In today's administrative meeting it was decided to create an inter-ministerial working group to draft the White Paper. The working group will be made up of three representatives of the Ministry of Work and Social Welfare (one of whom will chair the group), and two representatives of the Ministry of Health, two representatives of the Ministry of Finance, two representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and two representatives of the Statistical Office of Kosova. When necessary, the chairperson can invite, in the capacity of expert, other members, including significant international donors, to this group.
