Prime Minister of Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, during his current visit in Slovenia, after his speech at the 11th International Forum Europe 2008, organised by West Deutscher Rundfunk (WDR) with the support of European Parliament and European Commission, held separate meetings with the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janez Jansha and Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dimitrij Rupel.
At these meetings, Prime Minister Thaçi received congratulations from the Slovenian state leaders for the success achieved in Kosovo, which is a joint success of Kosovo institutions and international community, towards the commitment of Government of Kosovo to create a sustainable political and economical environment for a rapid integration of Kosovo into European Union and NATO as well as for the engagement of Government of Kosovo towards the observance and affirmative advancement of communities’ rights in Kosovo.
Slovenian Prime Minister Jansha and the Foreign Minister Rupel reemphasized the readiness of Slovenia to support Kosovo in its path towards Euro-Atlantic integrations.
On the other hand, Prime Minister of Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Hashim Thaçi, thanked Prime Minister Jansha and the Slovenian Foreign Minister Rupel for the support provided towards the international recognition of the state of Kosovo and highly assessed the role of Slovenia as the current Presidency of European Union for the affirmation of achievements of Kosovo institutions towards the building of democratic and stabile country with an open prospective of integration within European Union institutions.
At these meetings, with the leaders of Slovenian state, Prime Minister Thaçi discussed on the transitional process of Kosovo, the deployment of EU Mission in Kosovo, the entry into force of the Constitution of Kosovo as well as assuming of responsibilities by local institutions.
Prime Minister Thaçi pointed out that Kosovo is functioning as a state and that Kosovo institutions are ready to assume all responsibilities and obligations in order to build the functional state of Kosovo.
Prime Minister also emphasized that independence of Kosovo has brought more peace and stability in the region.
The future of Kosovo is integration within European Union and NATO. This will serve for the general good – claimed Prime Minister Thaçi.
