Study visit in Roma

 From 19 - 23 of March, the Head of Population Statistics Department, Chief of Cartography Sector and the Senior Officer of Cartography Office, held a working meeting in Roma with experts from different fields, mainly from demography and cartography, related population and housing census from ISTAT.

Aim of visit

The aim of visit was exchange of experiences between ISTAT- and SOK related to population and housing census.

Subject that were held during the visit:

• Orthography with high resolution, satellite images as base of maps for application during the census.
  Instructor: Mr. Valerio Baiochi and Mr. Roberto Bianchini, professors of “La Sapienza” University.
  
  
• Preparations for census, selection of registrants, controllers, trainings, questionnaires, maps and difficulties in the field.
  Instructor Ms. Katigia Ali Mohamud – responsible person for census in a town of Ethiopia named Harar.
  
  
• Census in Italy 2001.
  Instructor: Ms. Donatela Zindato, census expert.
  
  
• GIS and statistics where the examples on function of cartography were Kosovo and the Harar town of Ethiopia .
